Well-Being - "Eating to Live"
This is a broad-based research theme that encapsulates other themes (especially brain health and managing disease), but is distinguished from them in its 'prevention' focal point. In essence, this theme focuses in on how nutrition in general and specific foods and nutrients can be used to promote longevity as well as quality of life in older adults. Examples of this type of research would be caloric restriction, vegetarian diets, or the Mediterranean diet.
