What's happening at A-HA?
A-HA's core researchers are currently working on a number of projects aimed at improving the health of older adults through the innovative use of food:
- Understanding the consumption, awareness, understanding and motivating factors related to functional foods in community dwelling older adults.
- Evaluating texture modified foods in order to develop guidelines and tailor pureed foods to the sensory and nutritional needs of older adults.
- Understanding the meaning and experience of mealtime when a family member is experiencing dementia.
- Determining the prevalence of malnutrition in Canadian hospitals and the effect on patient outcomes.
- Investigating strategies to increase intake of omega-3 fatty acids in residents living in retirement and long-term care.
