Knowledge Translation & Transfer Activities
In 2010, A-HA received funding from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) / University of Guelph Partnership via the Agri-Food and Rural Link (KTT Program) to deliver knowledge mobilization activities that have the potential to contribute to a thriving agri-food sector by informing producers and the food industry to realize market opportunities and the health sector to realize health benefits to consuming Ontario's innovative agri-foods (e.g. functional foods).
Project objectives:
- Share research results in agri-food and nutrition as they apply to aging
- Increase collaborative research and dissemination opportunities that demonstrate the linkages between agriculture, food, nutrition and health
- Build connections and partnerships with new stakeholders
- Train Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP)
Key KTT activities made possible by this funding:
- Annual newsletter
- Social media presence (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, Blog)
- Functional Foods for Healthy Aging Tool Kit for Dietitians
- Nutrition Community of Practice
- Annual Health Professionals' Forum at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
