Governance & Support
Governance
The Agri-food for Healthy Aging (A-HA) initiative has a Chair, an Associate Chair and a Program Manager to support operational and administrative needs of four core research scientists while building strategic partnerships with agri-food and health sector stakeholders. The group meets bi-monthly, along with a small advisory committee, to discuss current research projects and identify potential directions for A-HA research and activities.
The Program Manager, Chair/Associate Chair, and one researcher from each of the partner universities provide progress reports to both the University of Guelph and the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA), semi-annually.
Support
In addition to financial support from the University of Guelph and the RIA for a full-time Program Manager, research support is sought through traditional tri-council granting agencies and strategic alliances with major players within the agri-food and health sectors.
